Heinz Tomato Ketchup Packets contain no preservatives, no artificial flavors or colors. These ketchup packets are also kosher, gluten-free and contain high fructose corn syrup instead of sugar. Ketchup does not need any added preservatives because the ingredients needed to make ketchup, particularly white vinegar, work as natural preservatives. Also, ketchup does not contain gluten, which makes it an option for any eaters who have Celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. It's difficult for gluten sensitive eaters to find gluten-free foods that taste good, so at least they are able to add delicious Heinz Tomato Ketchup to elevate the taste of their meals.
A food that is labeled 'kosher' has thereby met the standards and restrictions that conform to Jewish dietary regulations. Heinz Tomato Ketchup Packets receive the kosher label because they contain no ingredients that violate the dietary regulations of a kosher product.
Research shows that high fructose corn syrup is no different than sugar when it comes to affecting your body. Sugar and high fructose corn syrup both equally contribute to multiple detrimental health effects. Excessive intake of either sugar or high fructose corn syrup can lead to unwanted weight gain, type 2 diabetes, high triglyceride levels and metabolic syndrome. Each of these health effects also contributes to the development of heart disease.
